Health Centre
The Institute has a fully equipped Health Centre on campus. It provides a emergency medical service with an emphasis on health education and preventative medicine. Confidentiality is maintained and all medical records are retained in the Health Centre. They do not form part of the student record. The service has been increased over the years to meet the demands of the students whose visits home at the weekends are more infrequent due to work and study commitments. The Health Centre employs a full time Nurse - Ms. Paula McCean - and two doctors - Dr. Sarah Cuffe and Dr. Michael Brody - hold clinics for 15 hours during the week.
* The nursing service is available for a €5 to all students.
* Consultation with the doctor is by prior appointment. A €15 fee is charged by student services for students who do not qualify for a medical card.
* All students are covered by a personal accident insurance policy, which is part of the student services fee. This provides cover for medical costs in the event of an accident while on college activities.
* Appointments can be made by calling into the health centre from 9:15a.m. to 10:15a.m. or by calling 090 6424693 .
* If you need to cancel your appointment please contact the health centre so another student can take your appointment time.

The health centre nurse is available Monday - Thursday 9:00 - 5:00p.m. and Friday 9:00 - 4:00p.m.
The health centre is situated in the prefabs behind the canteen building.
Emergency medical service is provided by Midoc from 6pm - 8am Monday to Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday call 1850 302 702.
