AIT Student Card/Printing and Photocopying
STUDENT AIT CARD
The AITCard is the official identification card for students at AIT. It is multifunctional
and can be used for numerous services on campus e.g. library,
identification, printing, photocopying, point of sale (e.g. food) and access control.
Depositing funds to your AITCard
Depositing money into your AITCard account is quick and easy.You can deposit
funds in the campus shop, at the library or through Web Value Load.
How can I keep track of my balance?
The balance in your account will appear on the cash register display screen for
about five seconds each time you use your AITCard.You may also ask the cashier
to print your balance on your receipt.Your also see your balance on print station
machines and through Web Value Load.
Web Value Load
Web Value Load is a fast and easy way of transferring funds to your AITCard. Log
onto the AITCard website (www.ait.ie/aitcard), select the Web Value Load option
and follow the instructions. All major credit cards, laser and debit cards are
accepted and there is no charge.
To gain access to this facility call to the Information Desk and you will be issued
with a password. This password also allows you access to the Web Card
Management System, allowing you to view all your AITCard Transactions.
Photocopying/Printing Locations
Photocopying/Printing facilities are available at the following locations
• Open Access area (E1200)
• Library (L Block)
• Nursing Library (J Block)
• On the IT Laboratories’ corridor – outside rooms L2386 and L2389.
• Hospitality,Tourism and Leisure Building (Room F2688)
• Engineering Block (Outside room E2312)
Printing and Photocopying
A. Sending your document to print
1. Select the Print command
2. Select the HP Laserjet III Postscript print driver
3. Select your print requirement, e.g. all pages, current page, etc.
4. Send job to print by selecting OK. It is now stored on the network queue
until you decide to print it.
B. Printing your document
Lecture Room Printer
Swipe your card in the reader. Select your document and click print.
Multi function printer/copier
Swipe your card in the reader. Choose print option. Select your document and
click print.
Photocopying
1. Swipe your card into the reader
2. Select copy option
3. Insert your document into the photocopier.
Lost Cards
If you have lost or had your card stolen, please call to the Information Desk in the
main canteen area immediately.Your account will be suspended, denying other
persons access to your funds.There is a fee applicable to replacement cards. If you
find your card, your account is easily re-activated.
The Institute cannot refund printing credit for print jobs that are incorrectly set at
the time of printing. It is the responsibility of the student to check that the print
settings are correct for their print job. If you select and print all jobs in the print
queue, even those that do not belong to you, you will not get a refund.
Students should ensure to log out when finished printing/photocopying as failing
to do so enables the next person to use your credits.
